Privacy Protocol

RitualOS ID is built on the principles of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI). We do not own your data—you do.

Last Updated: Genesis Block (2024)

1. Data Storage

Your "Identity" consists of two types of data:

  • On-Chain Data: Public registry information (e.g., your DID, public keys, and revocation status) is stored on the RitualOS L2 blockchain. This data is immutable and public by design.
  • Off-Chain Credentials: Detailed claims (e.g., "Level 50", "Member of House Flame") are stored cryptographically signed in your personal data vault. RitualOS servers do not retain copies of these credentials unless explicitly backed up by you.

2. Data Disclosure

We operate on a model of Selective Disclosure.

When you connect to a Partner App (e.g., a game or marketplace), you authorize specific "Scopes" (e.g., read:profile, read:badges). You are sharing only the data required for that interaction. You may revoke this access at any time via your Dashboard.

3. Security

Your identity is anchored to your cryptographic keys (Wallet). If you lose access to your wallet, you may lose the ability to update your profile or prove ownership of your credentials. RitualOS cannot recover lost private keys.
